It was on this day 25 years ago the Grand Floridian opened its doors. Sitting on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon and themed after Victorian era beach resorts of the 19th and 20th century, this resort boasts 867 elegant rooms. Currently under construction is the addition of 147 villas which will be the second Disney Vacation Club Resort on the monorail. Such a beautiful resort, even if you aren’t staying there, be sure to visit. So, Happy Birthday Grand Floridian!!

Our Favorite Food This Week: Pizza Planet Cheese Pizza
Location: Pizza Planet (Hollywood Studios)
Price: $8.99 (includes pizza and Caesar salad)
Hungry for pizza at the Hollywood Studios, be sure to check out Pizza Planet. Even if you aren’t hungry stop in and play a few games, the claw game seems to get a lot of our money. Either way you will want to get a chocolate chip cookie for the road. The kids will have a blast, but the games can cause the indoor seating to get a bit loud so sitting upstairs is recommended.

Did You Know Today’s TIGGERIFIC TUESDAY TRIVIA About Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster?
We all know that each of the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster limos go from 0 – 60 in 2.8 seconds and that there are 125 speakers and 24 subwoofers per limo, but did you know that they built the entire coaster then constructed the building around it. Yes, folks, it’s true, in this case the roller coaster came before the egg err I mean building.
But it is too bad you don’t get much time to experience the building as the ride only lasts 1 and a half minutes so be sure to look around.

Today’s Hidden Mickey Monday is from the Morocco in World Showcase at Epcot. I have walked past this Mickey many times and as I was reviewing pictures it looks like I really enjoyed taking pictures of it. The Morocco area is currently under construction as a new waterfront restaurant “Spice Road Table” is built. The new restaurant will serve various small plates and refreshments inspired by the Mediterranean. Seating will be both indoors and out, and will be open by the end of 2013.

Our Favorite Food This Week: Wild Mushroom Filet Mignon
Location: Le Cellier (Epcot – Canada World Showcase)
Price: $27.99
If you hungry for a steak and you are at Epcot, look no further than Canada and Le Cellier restaurant. I’m not a big fan of mushrooms, but this is one of my wife’s favorite meals at Disney World. This steak is cooked to your liking, laid on a bed of wild mushroom risotto and covered with a white truffle butter. Is your mouth watering yet? The atmosphere at Le Cellier is very relaxing is its darker and designed to look like a wine cellar.

Did You Know Today’s TIGGERIFIC TUESDAY TRIVIA About Toy Story Midway Mania?
In the Toy Story Midway Mania at Hollywood Studios and Disney California Adventure, how many seconds do you spend at each scene (Plate breaking, Popping Balloons, etc…) ? 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 45 seconds???
In Toy Story Midway Mania, only 30 seconds are spent at each of the scenes. Yes I know it feels like 10 seconds sometimes. There is just not enough time to break al the plates. The total ride time is only 5 minutes as over 150 computers are used behind the scenes to process all the animation and pulls on each guests spring action shooter.
