Review

This charming water parade has been entertaining guests since Walt Disney World first opened.   Yes, there have been a few upgrades and a couple light bulb changes since then, but it’s essentially the same show.   The parade is approximately six minutes long, and consists of 14 small barges pulled across Bay Lake. Each barge is about 25 feet tall, and covered in lights which flash along to musical numbers.   Want to experience the show for yourself? Watch our video below!

Each Water Pageant Barge is themed around a particular subject, which includes even a few Disney Classics:

  • Sea Serpent – Pete’s Dragon (I Love You Too)
  • Whale –  Whale of a Tale
  • Turtle
  • Octopus – The Little Mermaid (Poor Unfortunate Soul)
  • Dolphins
  • Dinosaur – (Walk the Dinosaur)
  • Crocodile – Peter Pan (Never Smile at a Crocodile)
  • Neptune and Four Seahorses – The Little Mermaid (Under the Sea)

In the final scene you’ll experience a “tribute to all nations but mostly America” as the barges display stars, and the American flag while playing You’re a Grand Old Flag, Yankee Doodle, and America the Beautiful.

The parade can be seen from the Deluxe Resorts around Bay Lake, which include Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, and Contemporary.   You might also be able to see the parade from the Magic Kingdom but only when the park is open late.  Even if you are not staying at one of these hotels you are welcome to visit their beaches (via the monorail or boat) and enjoy the show.

Water Pageant Schedule (check your time guide or the front desk to verify the times during your stay):

  • 9:00pm Polynesian
  • 9:15pm Grand Floridian
  • 9:35pm Wilderness Lodge
  • 9:45pm Fort Wilderness
  • 10:05pm Contemporary
  • 10:20pm Magic Kingdom Dock Area (only on late nights at the Magic Kingdom)

Although the typical guest might not want to take time out of their busy schedule to see the short parade, DisneyDaybyDay says it’s a must for those staying at the Deluxe Resorts.
