Did You Know Today’s Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia About The First Interactive Rides
Many queues and rides today are being built with guest interactivity. This not only makes the ride and queues more enjoyable for the guest, but also ensures a repeat visit as the ride is different each time. Though new rides such as Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin and Toy Story Mania have improved the interactivity with technology, there are two attractions that have been around from the early days of Disney that were the first to offer an interactive ride. Which two would they be…… take a look at the pictures below for a big hint.
The Mad Tea Party is technically first as it opened day 1, July 17th 1955 with Dumbo opening on August 16, 1955 due to some fiberglass issues. Both of these rides still operate today and have lines that continue to show their popularity. On Dumbo the guest is able to use the lever to fly Dumbo higher or lower. On the Mad Tea Party, guests are able to spin their tea cup faster, slower, or in the opposite direction.
I love the Mad Tea Party! It was closed during our April trip. Is it back open again?
Open at Disney World, at Disneyland it’s still under refurb until 8/22
I’m not terribly fond of spinning, but I always suck it up and go on the teacups with my kids! I like your new blog look!
We alway try to get the tea cups to spin as fast as possible!
Two of my favorite rides! Although, I can’t really do the Teacups anymore, but I do love to watch Daddy spin the kids dizzy 🙂
