Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends. I hope you and your family had a great Holiday. I know that many of you will be eating leftover Turkey for the next few days, so here is a look at something other than turkey :). On our last trip to the parks it was a bit chilly so I wanted something warm and hearty. The Be Our Guest braised pork was right up that alley. This dish is filled with mashed potatoes, green beans, onions, red pepper and moist tender braised pork. I enjoyed every bite and plan to order this again on our next visit.

Our Favorite Food This Week: School Bread
Location: Epcot, Norway – Kringla Bakeri og Cafe
Cost: $2.69
Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends. This week’s Favorite Food takes us to one of our favorite countries in World Showcase, Norway. Step inside the Kringla Kakeri og Cafe for some amazing treats, including our selection School Bread. I have to say at first sight I was not sold, for one I’m not a big coconut fan and for two I’m not a big school fan. But after trying this I’m ready to hit the books.
School Bread, or should I say Skolebrod, was so called as it was a treat sent in lunch with kids to school. This sure beats my PB&J and I would expect the trade value to be quite high. School Bread is a sweet cardamom bun filled with vanilla creme custard and topped with glazed and toasted coconut. This is the perfect snack to grab while touring World Showcase, it’s not overly sweet and is full of custard. Enjoy….

Our Favorite Food This Week: Warm Cinnamon Roll
Location: Gaston’s Tavern – Magic Kingdom Fantasyland

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends. This week’s Favorite Food comes from Gaston’s Tavern in New Fantasyland. As you enter the Magic Kingdom early in the morning and you are looking for a cinnamon roll many often think of the Main St Bakery. But, we recommend you continue walking to the back of the park and into Gaston’s Tavern. These are not your standard cinnamon roll, they are huge, moist, warm, and covered in frosting. Just look at the frosting goodness.

Our Favorite Food This Week: Ahi Tuna
Location: Sunshine Seasons – Epcot Future World
Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends. This week’s Favorite Food comes from my sister’s last visit to the Sunshine Seasons, Ahi Tuna. In Hawaii, “ahi” refers to two species of tuna, the yellowfin and the bigeye. Yellowfin is often served seared rare, as you will find it here. The tuna is on a bed of sesame noodle salad. This is a dish that my sister will order whenever it’s on the menu and she highly recommends this one at Sunshine Seasons.
We have found that the Ahi Tuna is sometimes not on the menu, so you if you are going for that make sure you have a second choice in mind.

Our Favorite Food This Week: Hummus
Location: Fillmore’s Taste-In, Disney’s California Adventure
Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends. This week we head west to Disney’s California Adventure and check out Fillmore’s Taste-In. Fillmore’s is a groovy place to pick up a healthy snack. Be sure to stop by at night as the lighting really sets the mood. Fillmore’s offers up many healthy snacks including fresh fruits, veggies, juices, and our favorite, hummus. The hummus comes in a small container along with a container of pretzel chips, the overall flavor was very good and helped to tide us over between breakfast and lunch. Next time you are at DCA don’t miss your chance to fill your tank at Fillmore’s.
