served with baked beans and coleslaw
This week’s Favorite Food is the 1/2 chicken at Flame Tree BBQ in the Animal Kingdom. The meal is served with Baked Beans and Coleslaw (you can swap out either with grapes). Flame Tree is one of our favorite quick service restaurants at the Animal Kingdom. Not only is the food good, but you can find a great seat overlooking Expedition Everest. Stations around the all outdoor restaurant offer your standard BBQ sauce plus a sweet and spicy sauce, give them both a try.

Our Favorite Food This Week: Apple Strudel
Location: Germany (Epcot Food and Wine booth)
Price: $3.50
This week I continue my dessert addiction. We tried many things at this years Food and Wine festival, but one of my favorite desserts was the Apple Strudel with Werther’s Original Karamel and Vanilla Sauce. Yes Werther’s sauce. I definitely would have liked to have some vanilla ice cream on the side, but this dessert was amazing.

So much food at the Food and Wine we couldn’t try it all, what was your favorites?

Our Favorite Food This Week: Candy Corn Soft Serve Ice Cream
Location: Storybook Treats
Price: $3.49
I was excited to see some special treats this year for the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. As you all know I’m an Ice Creamaholic so even with the bags full of candy I had to make my way to Storybook Treats to try the Candy Corn Ice Cream. This vanilla ice cream treat has a surprise with pieces of candy corn found in the cone.

There were a couple other special treats during the party. A pumpkin waffle sundae at Sleepy Hallow, ghost cupcakes at Gaston’s, and many special cupcakes and cookies along Main St. So if your sugar high is running low, be sure to check these out.

Our Favorite Food This Week: Local Red Frank
Location: Mama’s Snack Stop (Aulani)
Price: $5.75 (shown with a side of fries for $2.95 extra)
This weeks favorite food comes to you from the beautiful Hawaiian Resort of Aulani. When we first arrived we were very hungry from our trip so we were glad to see a quick service location right next to the pool. Mama’s features a small menu but has a great location when you are swimming or lounging on the lazy river.

As many say the food in Hawaii can be expensive, but we found Mama’s to be reasonable and the food was always fresh and very tasty. The local red frank was an all beef hot dog served “Puka” style. Puka is the Hawaiian word for “hole” and refers to the naturally occurring hole in the middle of these rounded shell fragments. The bun is not cut lengthwise, no way not in the land of paradise, instead there is a hole down the center of the bread in which the frank is inserted. This makes them easy to hold and woof down before jumping back in the pool or ocean.

Our Favorite Food This Week: Blue Bayou Surf and Turf
Location: Blue Bayou (Disneyland)
Price: $45.99
This weeks favorite food comes to you from the Blue Bayou restaurant at Disneyland. Such a fun experience with the Pirates of the Caribbean ride passing right past you as you enjoy your meal.

The dish featured a Pacific Northwest Lobster Tail and Filet Mignon. All this was accompanied by au gratin potatoes, veggies, and Bearnaise sauce. Mouthwatering yet? It was a great atmosphere and an amazing meal.
