Our Favorite Food This Week: Mac and Cheese
Location: Gasparilla Island Grill – Grand Floridian
Price: $5.99
Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends. This week we are sharing a simple comfort food done Disney style, the kids mac and cheese. The Mac and Cheese can be found at many counter and table service locations. Last year we took our niece to Disney and she had this for about every meal. This mac and cheese has been put through many kids taste tests and I can contest it is amazing. At the buffets you will find me acting like I’m getting my son a plate and visiting the kids buffet to get a little mac and cheese for myself.

Have you tried the Mac and Cheese – let us know what you think….

Our Favorite Food This Week: Honey Chicken
Location: Yak and Yeti Counter Service- Animal Kingdom
Price: $9.99
Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends. This week we head to the Animal Kingdom and try the Honey Chicken at the Yak and Yeti Counter Service. The meal comes in a container and includes Tempura Chicken, Carrots, Broccoli, Honey Sauce, and White Rice. Overall the food was great with a nice honey taste, but it was very hard to mix it up due to the size of the container and the quantity of food. The rice is on the bottom so trying to stir it up was a challenge without some chicken ending up on the table.

Have you tried Yak and Yeti counter service? What did you think?

Our Favorite Food This Week: Joe’s Artisanal Pizza
Location: Tony’s Town Square Restaurant – Magic Kingdom
Price: $16.99
Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends. This week we head to the Magic Kingdom and Tony’s Town Square Restaurant. Over the years we have always heard mixed reviews of Tony’s, but we have enjoyed all our meals that we have had there. On our last trip I tried the Joe’s Artisanal Pizza which is a thin crust style pizza topped with Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Peppers, and Onions garnished with fresh Basil. Overall I’m not a huge fan of a lot of toppings on my pizza but these flavors worked well together and the sauce to cheese ratio was perfect. Overall I enjoyed it and would order it again.

If you have tried Tony’s let us know what you thing, if not let us know what you would order.

Our Favorite Food This Week: Worms in Dirt Cupcake
Location: Backlot Express – Hollywood Studios – Earth Week
Price: $4.99 + tax
Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends. This week we head to Hollywood Studios to the Backlot Express. If I was to say Worms in Dirt, not too many of you are picturing food and getting hungry, are you? Well what if I added one more little word to that – “Cupcake” – yes folks I bring you the Worms in Dirt Cupcake!!! Earth week was celebrated recently at Walt Disney World and as part of the celebration there were many great snacks to try. These included the cupcake in our post along with a Worms and Dirt caramel apple and a worms and dirt tart.

Worms in Dirt Cupcake
The Worm in Dirt Cupcake was a chocolate cupcake filled with chocolate pudding and topped with dirt (cookie crumbs), sprinkles, a gummy worm, and a sugar flower pot. Yes the flower pot was edible for that extra sugar buzz. The cupcake itself was moist and tasted best when eaten with the pudding. We ended up scraping most of the other sugary items to the side and only sampled them in the end.

All the pieces that make up the cupcake

Split down the middle to find the pudding
Who is ready for some worms in dirt? Be sure to check out all the great food on our Favorite Food Friday blog hop below. Visit each page and let them know what you think of their food selection this week…..

Our Favorite Food This Week: Mickey’s Kitchen Sink Sundae
Location: Plaza Ice Cream Parlor – Magic Kingdom
Price: $22.99 + tax

Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends. This week we head to the Magic Kingdom to the Plaza Ice Cream parlor for one of my favorite food groups, Ice Cream. Many of you have heard of the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream which is one ice cream dish that DisneyDayByDay has yet to conquer. Well, we recently heard about the smaller version of the Kitchen Sink called the Mickey’s Kitchen Sink Sundae and we knew we had to give it a try.

This sundae is filled with heavenly enjoyment that comes in a souvenir plastic set of Mickey Pants. The Sundae features Chocolate, Vanilla, and Strawberry Ice Cream topped with hot fudge, strawberry and caramel sauce, whip cream, chocolate and peanut butter chips and of course cherries. These pants come one size fits all so there are no substitutions on the ice cream or topping variety.
The sundae was filled with a lot of flavor and filled us all up. Just like the larger kitchen sink though the final bites were just a melted mess of everything mixed together. The dish is yours to keep so we took ours into the Noodle Station bathrooms to wash it out for the trip home.
Have you taken on either of the Kitchen Sinks?

Our Favorite Food This Week: Cronut
Location: Refreshment Port – Epcot – on the path to Canada as you exit Future World
Price: $4.49 (5.79 a la Mode – pictured here)
Welcome to this week’s Favorite Food Friday where we share our favorite foods with our friends. This week we are super excited to bring you our new Favorite Food Friday logo, huge thanks to my brother Shane for putting it together for us. Let us know what you think in the comment below.
This week we head to Epcot one last time before the end of Flower and Garden Festival and take on the Cronut. The Cronut is a croissant doughnut tossed in cinnamon sugar and it’s oh so good melting in your mouth amazement. The layers of the cronut are very buttery and have a somewhat doughy consistency but the mix of the butter and cinnamon is beyond good. We found that we liked the cronut without the ice cream a bit more than with, not exactly sure why but the tastes didn’t mix as well as we thought they would. You can’t go wrong with either though, so be sure to give them a try next time you are in the park!
