Our Favorite Food This Week: Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp
Location: Yak and Yeti (Animal Kingdom)

As you run from Kilimanjaro Safaris to Expedition Everest you may spot the Yak and Yeti restaurant. Stop in and give it a try. On our last visit I ordered the Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp which was described as a skirt steak (though I rather call it a kilt), tempura battered shrimp, jasmine rise, stir fried veggies and a chili plum dip.
The steak was good quality and cooked exactly as I had ordered. It was an overall tasty dish which I would order again. Yak and Yeti opened its doors in 2007 and is owned and operated by Landry’s Restaurants owners of Rainforest Cafe, TRex, and many more.

Our Favorite Food This Week: Dad’s Brownie Sundae
Location: 50’s Prime Time (Hollywood Studios)

If you don’t know by now, I’m an Ice Creamaholic. The first step is admitting, right? Well imagine the joy in my eyes when we found Dad’s Brownie Sundae at the 50’s Prime Time at Hollywood Studios. Being that I am a Dad it was a requirement that I try the mouth watering treat. Dad’s Brownie Sundae is made up of a Brownie covered with Vanilla Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Caramel sauce, whipped cream and other magical toppings. Feast your eyes, yes that is Cracker Jacks and M&M’s.
Please note that just because it’s called Dad’s doesn’t mean you have to be a Dad to try it. If you are eating at 50’s Prime Time, be sure to save room for Dad’s Brownie Sundae. I can hear it calling my name….. My name is Sean and I’m an Ice Creamaholic.

I know you clicked to read this thinking that it was a Hot Dog with a side of Mac and Cheese, wrongooo. This is a hot dog covered in Mac and Cheese in a bun. Yes, together in a bun and yes it’s messy and yes it’s good. Did you know that Disney’s Mac and Cheese goes through a kids taste test and it’s wonderful, if you haven’t tried it at any location you need to.

Our Favorite Food This Week: Mickey Pretzel

There is a theory that everything tastes better when it’s Mickey shaped. This theory holds true now with pretzels. I had heard that these have long been at Disneyland, but they are a fairly new addition to the Disney World food cart lineup.

Our Favorite Food This Week: 1/3 lb Angus Cheeseburger and Fried Shrimp
Location: ABC Commissary (Hollywood Studios)
Price: $10.99 (served with fries or apple slices)
For those of us that grew up watching TV in the 80’s and 90’s you will love the background music at ABC Commissary which consists of theme songs to popular TV shows of that time. As for the burger, I try to avoid burgers at the parks, but this one is worth a try. The Angus beef is seasoned well and there is a special sauce which makes it more than just your ordinary theme park burger. Oh and don’t forget your bonus fried shrimp,these are placed on top of the burger and easily removed to consume on their own.

Our Favorite Food This Week: Pizza Planet Cheese Pizza
Location: Pizza Planet (Hollywood Studios)
Price: $8.99 (includes pizza and Caesar salad)
Hungry for pizza at the Hollywood Studios, be sure to check out Pizza Planet. Even if you aren’t hungry stop in and play a few games, the claw game seems to get a lot of our money. Either way you will want to get a chocolate chip cookie for the road. The kids will have a blast, but the games can cause the indoor seating to get a bit loud so sitting upstairs is recommended.
